Useful questions about where to send your items, how to label them and what other information we need.
What should I do with my pennant once I've made it?
Once your pennant is complete then please photograph it and upload the photo to our Gallery. You need to register to do this but we dont share that information with anyone.
You can then exhibit or display your pennants with others as many organisations are doing across the country.
Once you are ready (and before the closing date 31st December 2011) please send it in to us so we can prepare it for giving to an athlete.
Make sure that you label your pennant and include a cover letter with your name, address etc so we can register your contribution. This is never shared with anyone.
To send it in, please use one of the following:
- Take it to one of the shops or collection points listed here
- Post it to your local or nearest coordinator
- Post it directly to us at the Project Address
The Project Address is:
Quilts4London
39 Hunting Gate
Hemel Hempstead
Herts HP2 6NX
How will the pennants, rods and braids be distributed to the athletes?
We are currently working with LOCOG to determine the exact method of distribution. It is hoped that this will involve some form of presentation/ceremony during arrival, but the sheer logistics of 14,000 items might make this difficult in some circumstances.
We are planning whatever happens to make sure that there is a pennant for every athlete and to do this we have alternative plans which involve distribution by competing team with enough pennants for every member of the team.
We will update this FAQ and publish the information as soon as we know more.
